I chose to work on a contrast essay because I want to discuss how life in London will change for the British citizens without the multicultural society living in the UK at the moment.

I chose to work on a contrast essay because I want to discuss how life in London will change for the British citizens without the multicultural society living in the UK at the moment.

I chose to work on Brexit because it is one of the main issues happening in the UK and by working on it, I expect to get more knowledge about it, and at the same time learn more about British identities. Brexit is the leaving of the UK from the EU, it was a public vote known as referendum with 52% opting for the leaving side. The choice for the exit was determined through a referendum voted on the 23rd of June 2016 by 17.4 million people. This result also ended up costing the resignation of the Prime Minister of England at the time, David Cameron, who advocated in favor of staying in the EU. Studies estimate that the British economy will decrease by 1.5 to 9.5% with the consolidation of the exit.
The economic issue raises internal concern, since many British producers export products in larger quantities to European Union member countries. If there are no UK economic agreements with each country in this matter, many producers may run out of buyers for their products or may see export values rise which would decrease profit.
One of the controversial issues surrounding Brexit is the future of European workers living in the UK. As the Brexit debate was guided by the questions of the control of British borders, the issue is delicate and raises concern in Europeans who live in the United Kingdom since the British government hasn't yet made statements regarding its intentions with European residents, so it is believed that this issue will be discussed during the two year period scheduled for negotiations to take place.

The purpose of the chosen idea is to show the society how important the multi-culture in the UK is and how it has made what the UK is today, and by leaving the UK side it might have a very big impact on how the country works, in every way.
The possible effects it can have would be; too many jobs and not enough workers, lack in diversity and foods, problems with importing and exporting products,
Brexit is definitely a way of showing how powerful and how the politics and government have influence and power against us citizens.

In the UK there are approximately 68 million people, around 7.5% being Asian, 3.3% followed by black, mixed/ multiple ethnic groups at 2.2% and other ethnic groups at 1.0%. London is the highest city population since 1939 in the whole of the UK, accommodating over 8.6 million people, consisting of 44% of ethnic minorities.
In my film, I am going to use the hypodermic needle theory in order to in a way 'brainwash' my audience the same way Brexit has, but in a way against it. Since nowadays the media has a greater and big impact on how the audience behaves and thinks about certain topics it is a good way to get my message across.

" London has always attracted immigrants, but they’ve often come one group at a time, the Economist notes. That began to change in the 1990s, as conflicts in Africa and the Middle East, the Soviet Union’s collapse, EU expansion, and growing emerging market wealth drove more foreigners to Britain. Between 2001 and 2011, London’s white population decreased by 6%, while the “Black other” population (not African or Caribbean) increased 110%, according to the 2014 Greater London Authority report. Overall, black and ethnic minorities grew 55.5% over the decade."
One of the biggest problems happening at the moment in the UK when it comes to unfairness and racism which is not being spoken about is that the government is sending deportees to Jamaica. Most of the people who had a chance to talk to the guardian stating that they had been living in the uk for over 20 years. The response that was given by the Home office spokeswoman was that " We make no apology for trying to protect the public from serious, violent and persistent foreign national offenders" strong words used to describe those citizens forced in a van to be taken to an airplane which later on would deliver them to the whole another continent. This information can be found on the website above.

Since we all know what racism is, in this direct form of racism, an individual or group expresses itself physically or verbally against other individuals or groups due to ethnicity, race or color, as well as denying access to basic services (or not) and places for the same reasons.

If linked to racism it would take part as institutional racism which is in a less direct way, institutional racism is the manifestation os the prejudice on the part of public or private institutions, the state and laws that directly promote racial exclusion or prejudice. we can take as an example the ways of approaching policemen against black people, who tend to be more aggressive. In this case, the government institutionally being racist towards different races in living in the UK specially towards Jamaicans which are by force being sent to Jamaica.
Discrimination by origin can be reported since antiquity, when Greek and Latin people classified foreigners as barbarians. The origin of the designation of race prejudice, in particular, is newer having been leveraged in the 16th and 17th century. So we can tell that this is nothing that is new or that hasn't happened before in the world. but id definitely something that has to be changed and stopped.
There is a book and also a film version of "the boy in the stripped pyjamas" which is a story about two boys of the same age, one being jewish which was imprisoned in a concentration camp by the nazi officer father of the boy who was his friend
